Help Build the Typhoon Ondoy Maximum Flood Height Map

In General
Alfredo Mahar Lagmay of the National Institute of Geological Sciences, University of the Philippines created an open collaboration Google Map that will help experts to validate future flood simulations for Metro Manila. This interactive map is based on the flood levels experienced by residents on September 26, 2009 when Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) hit the Philippines.
Follow up:
To make it effective and useful, Filipinos are invited to put the data needed by visiting the map and adding map notes. Here are the instructions:
- To add to the database, you need to have a Google Account and sign-in (if none please email info to klima@observatory.ph).
- Then press the edit button and add a placemark.
- Input the flood height as the Title and follow the legends below.
- To edit/change an icon, click the image/icon at the right side of the title field.
* For accuracy, please zoom in until you see houses clearly before plotting the location.

Top of Head High (Violet Pin)
One-Storey High (Dotted Aqua Blue Balloon)
