Today, Saturday, August 1, 2009, Maria Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino passed away at around 3:18am ACT (Friday, July 31, 2009, 7:18pm UCT).

She became the icon of a peaceful revolution that was duplicated in the ASEAN region and around the world - People Power Revolution. I was only 4 years old at that time but I can still remember most of it (visually, I don’t recall how I felt at that time).

She’s a wife to Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Servillano Aquino, Jr. a UP graduate and member of Upsilon Sigma Phi (Wikipedia entry).

She’s also a mother of five namely - Benigno Simeon Aquino III, Maria Elena A. Cruz, Aurora Corazon A. Abellada, Victoria Eliza A. Dee, and Kristina Bernadette A. Yap.
